CHANGING ROOM ARRANGEMENTS

From the start of this term, we would like to alleviate the congestion and make more efficient use of the Changing Rooms by making sure that the 2 large closed off rooms, Boys and Girls, are used by as many as will comfortably fit into them before and after both sessions. The boys’ room in particular should no longer be used exclusively as a private area for only 3 people in each of the 3 private cubicles, but the whole area used to change in, and clothes then moved to lockers to allow the next group full access.

Please remember that all clothes should be put into the lockers after your children have changed, wherever that is, to free the changing space up for the other groups.  They do not have to be locked unless you feel the need, or have valuable items to store. Lockers are locked by inserting a £1 coin which is returnable.

Radley College have converted their hot water system to be heated by energy efficient Solar Panels.  We are hoping that the temperature regulation will now improve.

However, please only allow your children to stay under the showers for a very short time, after and especially before using the pool, otherwise we get queues forming and a crush by the pool entrance.  In particular, showers should not be used for keeping warm or playing under.

EASTER AND SUMMER INTENSIVES

Easter,  bookings from now with Jayne. EASTER DATES, 2nd – 5th April 2012.
Classes for beginners, and stroke improvers, Snorkels and Flippers, 1-1s
Activitity sessions providing a taste of other Aquatic activities such as diving and water polo.

WATER SAFETY IN STAGE 3

It is a vital lifeskill to be aware of the dangers around water, particularly open water such as rivers and lakes; how to avoid them and how to help in an emergency.  The ASA National Plan recognizes this and requires all children in Stage 3 to have knowledge of the Water Safety Code.
Abingdon Dolphins wants to emphasise the importance of this part of the syllabus so as an experiment, we are going to organize some 10 minute sessions in the relative comfort of the foyer to go through these points, with children who are on Stage 3 in Middle water. We will  keep you posted.

BAD WEATHER

In the event of snow or the sudden cancellation of lessons, the latest information will be sent as emails, text messages and posted on the website.
